Not a Roach and Some Teens (GOD ANSWERED PRAYERS AGAIN)

I was sitting with my Bible this morning, rubbing my bleary eyes.  I hadn't slept well.  I had to drag myself out of bed.  As I started to wake and dig in, I felt a nudge to check our primary checking account (this is NOT our adoption account).

This is what our balance looked like.

WHAT?!! I found myself praying that I didn't somehow mess up the account.

There was an almost $700 charge from and energy company we had never heard of.  I had to Google it.  We've been with the same company for 17 years.  The company was legit, the charge was NOT. I shook my head.  REALLY?!

As I shook my head and smiled slightly, I felt an odd sensation crawling up my leg.

Okay, so it wasn't that big.

I didn't jump or scream, but shook it off.  I sentenced it to death by baby toy.  It was a BIG baby toy.

It was him or me.

I believe I was completely spared.  It wasn't a ROACH.  A roach touching me would have meant a blood curdling scream and everyone would have thought I was dying (no joke, ask my kids...or Lexi).

Side note: Anna once glanced over at me, did a retake and screamed, "Mom, don't move! There's a roach on your shoulder!" She was just messing and there was NO roach, but she will never let me forget my reaction.  The whole world exploded inside my brain.  My family laughed for a week about that one.  Okay, truthfully they still are.

Anyway, back to my story.  This stuff didn't surprise me.  Nope, not at all.  We've filed a fraudulent charge form with the bank and canceled my debit card.  The money will be returned in a few days.

The spider is dead.

I laughed.

Really Peeps?  We are on our way to our girls!!! This stuff...pffttt...

Now onto a HUGE PRAISE in adoption news!!!

You prayed, God answered!!!

I asked for prayer for our consulate appointment to be approved quickly.  IT WAS!!!! Overnight, not even 24 hours later, IT WAS APPROVED!!!! On July 25th we will be at the U.S. consulate in Grace and Hope's country!!! WOO HOO!!! THANK YOU FOR PRAYING!!!!

We have also found out that Hope's orphanage has agreed to go ahead and apply for her passport so that we most likely won't have to stay there as long (link).  Usually the passport application happens once we take custody and she is legally ours. Cost has to be a major factor for us (and being away from our families back home).  The shorter time we stay, the less the cost in the big picture.  I love our girls country so much, but HAVE to be concerned with finances.  We need to be proactive with the funds God has blessed us with through many of you.  Please pray that we find out what day we need to leave (and what days we get the girls) VERY quickly (like by tomorrow if God Wills).

Since yesterday's post $235.00 has been donated!!!!! WOO HOO!!! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!  We now only need $1594.00!!! We are almost there!!!! We appreciate prayers for the amount we have to be more than enough and for the remainder of the funds to come in quickly!

As the adoption kind of takes center stage, life still does go on around here.

Anna (16 years) recently raised her own money to go to an out of state youth event called "Uplift".  It's actually pretty cool.  They dig deep spiritually and...well...it's a BLAST!!!

Side note: Our Church does something called "Rent a Teen" where those that need work done on their property can hire the teens and the teens can earn money for the numerous summer events.  It's pretty much the only way our kids can go anywhere this year.  The youth group is wonderful about helping anyone in need, but this is a way that people in the Church can also help out our youth.  Our youth get to learn the value of hard work/earning your way.

There's our Anna all the way to the left in the first row!
No joke, these teens are AWESOME!

Anna is on the steps hiding and you can barely see her.

Anna is serving here.

Now here's the best part.  Bryan (who we adore) was honored
to baptize his friend Noah.  ANOTHER BROTHER!!! WOO HOO!!!!

So today is another day.

I really am almost giddy to share what will happens next, because GOD IS DOING BIG THINGS!!!!

The mountains melt beneath him
    and the valleys split apart,
like wax before the fire,
like water rushing down a slope.
Micah 1:4

Whatever avenue you feel comfortable with, thank you.
Thank you for answering the call that will change the life of two little girls and our family forever.

Thank you for the sacrifice...just thank you.

Several have asked about our needs for the girls.  Our biggest need, we were just told, is being provided (a new specific car seat).   We are overwhlemed, yet again, and so very grateful!!!! Most of the needs we have are smaller.  We've been hesitant to share since getting the girls home has to be our first priority We do have a baby registry on Amazon with items needed and though not posting the link on here, you can email us at 1thomkat (at) verizon (dot) net if you would like it . The second biggest item is a second baby carrier (the first may not come in time and both can be used with both girls) that we can use in country (not on the registry -----https://mykinderpack.com/collections/standard-size/products/black-koolnit-mesh-standard-kinderpack-baby-carrier?variant=30825777677 with plus size straps).  It's expensive and NOT anywhere the same priority as getting the girls home!!!! NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!!

We thank you as well for thinking about our girls needs.  Again, our absolute first priority is bringing them home, please understand.  It's NOT that we don't want to share.

PRAYER REQUESTS: (They are now all immanent...smile)

2.  I feel a deep need to have everyone join us in prayer for the attachment of our girls.  Please pray they have NO attachment issues and attach to us as a family very quickly.  We have been in the adoption world enough to know severe attachment issues exist.  We pray that GRACE and HOPE have NO issues with attachment...NONE (that God prepares them as well).

. 3. For Grace and Hope, that they are healthy, loved on, and protected. Please pray that they dream of us and attach quicker than ANYONE could imagine.

4. PLEASE pray protection against ALL of satan's schemes.  He's been messing with our family and with Amy and her family.  PLEASE pray a strong concrete, cement, gold, silver (smile) wall between our lives and his schemes.

5.  That we have "MORE THAN ENOUGH" for this trip.  PLEASE PRAY FOR $1,594 in less than THREE WEEKS and please pray for those individuals God is touching to help us financially bring home the girls.

6. Please pray for Thomas and I to see clearly where God is leading and what WE are to do.

7.  Please pray that I can fully recover and can gain strength before travel comes (both Thomas and I on the last part...physical strength)

8. That my traveling companion (Amy) and I stay well (completely) within country and are safe....not even a nauseous stomach which commonly happens at least once.

 9. That God uses us/speaks through us while we are there, see what we need to see and doing what we need to do.

10. That our families are safe while we are gone and that it is a peaceful (and safe) time for them.

11. For Timothy's complete healing...and that he has walking and running in his future (smile).  That his pain is minimal.

12. Please pray for the Stewart family as they mourn the loss of their father, grandfather, and great grandfather, uncle, brother, and loved one.

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
