No Pat Answers & My Friend

Though our Travel Approval is now on day eleven of the wait, I am hanging on to sanity (or insanity, which I prefer).  The usual time frame is six to eight days for Travel Approval, but as all of you know, our lives are never normal (chuckle).

The most common phrase during this adoption has probably been, "Wow, I've NEVER seen that happen before."

So, today I just focus on today.  It hasn't been easy.  Several people that I love DEARLY are hurting and confused.  They are processing events that happened today that were the last thing they expected.  So I ache and wish I had wise words.

Side note: Though there is truth in "pat" answers, they are usually NOT the thing to say and are often thoughtless and don't reach into other's hearts.

Anyway, I've been (very truthfully) in tears and prayers today for others.  Think of those dearest to you and then picture them getting kicked in the gut.  That's what today has been.  I wish I could share, but without permission, I can't.

I would like to share with you something much more positive and happy right now.  I need to.

I'd like to publicly introduce you to my traveling buddy.  She is a treasured friend.  This trip has brought us even closer.

When praying about who was to go with me across the world to bring home Grace and Hope, several people popped into my mind.  Yet,  it was my friend Amy who God kept putting before me.

It got to the point that I knew, with total peace (just like with Lexi last year when we went to bring home Timothy).  I KNEW God had a purpose in Amy going to China.

I wanted to put it before her and ask her to pray about it, but God had me wait.  I'd ask, "Now God?" and felt a very clear "No".

God was working on Amy as well.

He was bringing her to a point where she asked God to "send her" where HE Willed.  I don't think she expected this! (I'm cracking up.  We've had that discussion before.  It was not even on her radar.)

She is a gift and I can't wait to see what God has planned for the three weeks we are across the world.  I can feel HIM moving.  Yes, sometimes I want Him to move faster (TOTAL honesty), but HE knows the exact timing and why.  HE knows what will happen and who we need to meet.  HE KNOWS.

So really, we want HIS timing.

Introducing Amy and Steve.

You've seen their three kids on our blog several times...Megan, Bridget, and Reid.

This is Megan (20 years old in a week) and our Anna.

Jael and Bridget (14)

Reid (13) is there in the middle between our goof ball Max
and a friend (goof ball) Bryan.

As we are going into this and you have all been praying for us, could you please pray for Amy and her family too.  As you guys know if you've followed our VERY blessed lives, satan loves to mess with us as we do GOD's Will.  Amy (and her family) are striving to follow God.  You can guess what's happening.  Yup, they are definitely being messed with.  Their family at home will also will need much of the same support while we are out of the, prayers, and physical help at times as well.

Thank you friends for walking this journey with us.

Now to settle down on our couch and eat dinner. (Yes, it's ten at night.  Dinner for me just didn't happen today.)

I also wanted to say thank you as well to the family (actually a friend) that sacrificed for our girls again.  Two hundred more dollars were donated toward bringing our girls home yesterday.  Thank you...seriously.  We are down to needing only $2390!!!  We pray this is more than enough to complete our trip!

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10a

If you don't know what's going on, please read Mountains Crumble...It Happened!!! Peel Me Off the Ceiling!

If you hear God nudging your heart or speaking to your spirit about helping bring our girls home....

*Feel free to share our need with anyone God leads you to.  We now only need $2390!  We broke that $3000 barrier and $200  was given since I posted two days ago!!!

*You can email us at 1thomkat(at)verizon(dot)net and we will share our phone number (if you'd like to chat) or  address.

*The LifeSong for Orphans account has been closed.  We are so close to travel that we need to insure any funds have a chance to get to us.  If something is already on the way, it will still get to us in time! No worries!  If you would like a tax deductible way to give, you can email us at 1thomkat(at)verizon(dot)net.  We do have someone will to take donations.

*Our PayPal address can be used (using the "Family and Friends" method) to 1thomkat(at)verizon(dot)net.

*If you have an idea that may help, please feel free to email us as well. We never know how God may work!!!

Whatever avenue you feel comfortable with, thank you.
Thank you for answering the call that will change the life of two little girls and our family forever.

Thank you for the sacrifice...just thank you.

Several have asked about our needs for the girls.  We've been hesitant to share since getting the girls home has to be our first priority.  We do have a baby registry with items needed and though not posting the link on here, you can email us at 1thomkat (at) verizon (dot) net .  We thank you as well for thinking about our girls needs.  Again, our absolute first priority is bringing them home.

PRAYER REQUESTS: (They are now all

2.  I feel a deep need to have everyone join us in prayer for the attachment of our girls.  Please pray they have NO attachment issues and attach to us as a family very quickly.  We have been in the adoption world enough to know severe attachment issues exist.  We pray that GRACE and HOPE have NO issues with attachment...NONE (that God prepares them as well).

. 3. For Grace and Hope, that they are healthy, loved on, and protected. Please pray that they dream of us and attach quicker than ANYONE could imagine.

4.  That we have "MORE THAN ENOUGH" for this trip.  PLEASE PRAY FOR $2,390 in less than THREE WEEKS and please pray for those individuals God is touching to help us financially bring home the girls.

5. Please pray for Thomas and I to see clearly where God is leading and what WE are to do.

6.  Please pray that I can fully recover and can gain strength before travel comes (both Thomas and I on the last part...physical strength)

7. That my traveling companion (Amy) and I stay well (completely) within country and are safe....not even a nauseous stomach which commonly happens at least once.

 8. That God uses us/speaks through us while we are there, see what we need to see and doing what we need to do.

9. That our families are safe while we are gone and that it is a peaceful (and safe) time for them.

10. For Timothy's complete healing...and that he has walking and running in his future (smile).  That his pain is minimal.

11. Please pray for the Stewart family as they mourn the loss of their father, grandfather, and great grandfather, uncle, brother, and loved one.

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
