LTC and Mini Adoption Update

Every year many Churches around us (as well as ours) do what is referred to as "Leadership Training for Christ" or LTC.  Kids across the United States learn skills that will help them be leaders in different roles.

Things like...
Signing
Bible Memorization
Speech
Chorus
Art
Scrapbook

They do the above and about a million other subjects.

It's fun too.   The kids look forward to it each year.  They don't have to participate, but they have a blast doing it.

Max doesn't seem to be stopping growing any time soon.
He's now around six feet at 14 years old.  It's the running joke.
They were temporarily taller (chuckle).

This year it started with Bible Bowl.  They were studying Acts.  You can tell these kids just look so unhappy (laughing).

Our crew/family doesn't sit in chairs with the rest of the audience.  We sit on the floor in the back and spread out.  It's SO much easier and everyone is beginning to know where to look for us (smile).  It feels like reunion weekend for us.  This year we even saw friends from COLLEGE.  Yup, I knew them before I knew Thomas. Ken and Danetta have stories about me that I had even forgot.  Actually I'm thinking I blocked them out (laughing).  It made my day and brought back SO many memories!!!

This was Timothy's first time out and though he needed a little bit of pain medication this first time out, he didn't for the rest of the weekend.

Gabe showing Timothy how a game worked.

Our triplets (and their daddy in the background)

May (and new family friend), Anna, and Ben being goofy

It didn't end there though.  In a long standing tradition, Bekah continued on the next day with signing.  This was her big sister Sarah's thing.  She was pretty nervous, but adorable.

The lighting was awful, but she's still so cute.

Then you have my husband, the jokester, that wanted to remind her not to sign in all caps.   ;-)

Anna then had chorus later on in the day.  Their youth group scrapbook (she helped work on) had already been completed and turned in!

Timothy and his "babysitter".  I thought it was SO
cute that he told his mom this when asked what
he was doing.  TWO ADORABLE BOYS!!!!
(of course sitting right next to me)

All of these events could not have come to fruition without the time and dedication (MANY MANY MONTHS of dedication) by A LOT  of adults.  Thank you to those who led our children.  Thank you for your guidance and love...and A LOT of time!!!!

Adoption Update:

Our paperwork is in the second step of the immigration process for the girls.  If you want to pray specifically, pray it is quick! :-)

The rules are very firm in the nation our girls are from.  We are hearing daily about families getting turned down and are so grateful to them for allowing our daughters to come home.  Seeing an update was such a gift...and so hard.  Now my heart longs for them even more (if possible)...and my arms long to hold them.

Many have asked about travel.  The hope is to travel sometime in June to bring them home.  We appreciate prayers for that outcome!

We received an invitation for an interview for an adoption grant.  It's part of a (I believe) three step process (application, some chosen for interviews, some chosen from the interviews for a grant).     Please pray, if it can be within God's will, that we receive this grant.  We have the last $11,000-$12,000 to go.  We have come so far and this would help us so much!

Below I am posting specific prayer requests.  Below that, ways to give if God touches your hearts.

Thank you SO MUCH to Shayna and Jennifer for raising $200 through LuLaRoe for this adoption journey!!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IMMEDIATE:
 1. We have an interview for this grant next week.  PLEASE pray (that if it's God's Will) we receive this grant.
2. Please pray that the step our adoption is at now goes quickly!!! (2nd step of immigration)
OTHER PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please Pray...
1. For Timothy's complete healing...and that he has walking and running in his future (smile).
2. For Grace and Hope, that they are healthy, loved on, and protected. Please pray that they dream of us and attach quicker than ANYONE could imagine.
3. That, IF God Wills, we receive the waiver we've requested. Adoption fees are often not arbitrary, but pay for families and children's needs. We pray that only if this will not bring any hardship, that we may receive it the waiver.
4. That we hear from the (now) two grants we have yet to hear from. Please pray we receive at least one grant. It would help TREMENDOUSLY!  Receiving more than one more would be almost more than we could hope or imagine!
5. Please also pray for Thomas and I. Please pray we can use this time before travel to gain physical strength.
6. Lastly, we have several expenses that we normally would have taken care of with our tax return, but couldn't this year. Could you please pray for God's provision for these expenses...and the things we still need to gather for the girls.  This isn't typical...unless we are in the adoption process...lol.  Thank you!
7. That my traveling companion (Amy) and I stay well (completely) within country and are safe.
 8. That God uses us/speaks through us while we are there, see what we need to see and doing what we need to do.
9. That our families are safe while we are gone and that it is a peaceful time for them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We still have $11,000-$12,000 to raise.

Other Ways to Give:

1.  LifeSong is still accepting tax deductible donations on our behalf, even though the matching grant is met.   You can also mail a check to them with our family name and number in the memo line (it can be found in "My Story" in the link below).

2.PayPal- You can send money through PayPal "Friends and Family" to our email address 1thomkat (at) verizon (dot) net
No money will be taken out and every penny will go toward our adoption!

3. You can mail a check directly to us.  It will be placed in a separate adoption account immediately.  You can email us at the above email and we will send our address.

I have no need of a bull from your stall

    or of goats from your pens,
10
for every animal of the forest is mine,
    and the cattle on a thousand hills.
11
I know every bird in the mountains,
    and the insects in the fields are mine.
Psalm 50:9-11

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
