Medical Days and a Brief Update on Timothy and Jael

Today was one of those actually fun long medical days.

Four appointments (they added one once we arrived), time at the hospital's park, and new directions for surgeries

They evaluated a part of one of Jael's legs that was having some pain.

They started the process for new prosthesis for Jael.  They are now creating the new suspension system on her running legs that they created on her legs with knees.  This allows her to be more independent.

We also went to two appointments for Timothy.  In one appointment we were given good news.  His wrist  was bent down at a 45 degree angle (could not raise above that).  With stretching and splinting, his hand now is able to go to a neutral position (straight out).  This may mean that they do not need to take a wedge of bone out of his wrist, and instead (after splinting and stretching) may take a tendon from the bottom of his wrist and put it on top to enable him to pull his wrist upward.

The other appointment was to create a custom splint that is firmer and keeps his wrist in the neutral position better than his last one. It's actually working really well.

Of course we also went to the park...OF COURSE.

It was a good, albeit long, day.

I appreciate some prayers as I am legitimately trying to figure out the best course of action.  We don't have the funds (though I'm still going down a couple of bunny trails) to go to the specialist in PA.  I'm trying to decide if I should just see if we can postpone these appointments for a few of months.  It may have to be a lot longer as these appointments are hard to come by.  I just don't have a clue what to do.  I appreciate prayers.  I'm following a lead in regards to transportation, but there are no guarantees.  I'm requesting a room in another Ronald McDonald house in hope that if we don't get one, we get another.  Yet, we are about to get plane tickets.  We have to pay the fee if we change them.  We need to make a decision soon...like within days.  Please pray for discernment.  I really just don't have a clue.

(If you want to read why we are going there, I wrote a blog post on it here.)

Thank you for your continued prayers.  I really need discernment right now and just don't know the right answer.

Immanent Prayer Request:
*Sarah is considered in early labor.  It can last a day or weeks (though we expect it won't be that long).
*Can you please pray for discernent for this trip to PA  in about five weeks ($500-$700 or whatever the exact amount God knows we need)?  Could you pray for direction, if we are to
go to an organization for help?  Thank you!

Our Prayer Requests:
*Please pray for our continued adoption journey.  Please pray protection over our family and the ever expanding number of children (here and across the world).  The master of lies loves to mess with anyone trying to follow God.
*Please pray for a financial way.  Continue funds for the adoption and many unusual expenses that happen...some only every five years.  They just happen to have happened all at once during back to back adoptions.  We are taking a deep breath and trusting God.
*Please pray for our beautiful pregnant daughters  (one is a daughter-in-love, but I love her like one) and one precious extended family member who is expecting.  Our daughter Sarah is due any day and they have a lot of things they are trying to figure out. Please pray for discernment, direction, and blessing for Sarah and Ivan.   Please pray for all three of the babies and their health...and health of the mommies.
*Please pray we GLORIFY GOD in ALL THINGS.  This is the most important.

Our Friends:
*Please pray for an extended family member's mother Laura.  She has cancer and it isn't good.
*PLEASE pray for a young teen named Alyssa.  She has brain cancer and has had many brain surgeries at this point.  They just found cancer at the base of her spine.  PLEASE pray for healing.  (She is the daughter of two friends from college.)  Please also pray for her family.

*Please pray for my husband's friend at work.  He lost his mother-in-law two weeks ago. (The Windom family)
*Please pray for my friend Elizabeth, as she they have found cancer on her foot.  Please also pray for insurance to approve this quickly!

*Please pray for K and G.  They have just lost their precious baby.

PRAISE:
*God has answered our prayers and October 31st we were able to complete another big step in our adoption.
*God has answered our prayers for the next funds due for the adoption (due within two weeks)
*God answered the prayers for the deposit on Jael's wheelchair.  It left me speechless and in tears.

Know if I'm praying for you, I have not forgotten.  If I don't have your permission to put it here I won't in order to make sure it is only shared if you would like us to.

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
