Jael is such a powerhouse.  A matter a fact, that is what I call her.  She's our little powerhouse.  When she first learned to walk on prosthesis, they had her scheduled for a week of therapies.  She took three days...THREE DAYS!  Who does that?!!!

Most recently you saw a picture of Jael dressed as an Orthopedic Surgeon working for her favorite orthopedic hospital.

If you read our confession post, you know I have an internal argument every year at this time.  When the kids do dress up, we rummage through our dress up clothes already in the house.  We have many items that would work to dress up as a kitty or a princess, but Jael was set on dressing up as a doctor...and she knew what kind.

This girl cracks us up.  She's our artist, Lego builder, deep thinker....and dancer.

Right now medically there's very little we have to do with at this point (in regards to Jael).  We have an appointment for next week for a couple things, but prayerfully it will be uneventful.  Actually, we have one of our "all day/play at the hospital park/eat at the hospital/end in exhaustion" days at our local hospital for both Timothy and Jael.  I will share more about Timothy in another post though.  Truthfully, the days at this hospital are always fun.  They usually get a coloring book or toy, get to play at an UBER fun park, and get to eat out.  They LOVE this cafeteria.  The way you'd hear them talk, it's better than Disneyland!

Jael currently has a little pain in one of her legs, around where an incision was made.  They are checking it out.  It's woken her up a couple of nights.   They are also getting her set up to create a new pair of prosthesis for her with her new suspension system (that she already has on her legs with knees).  It gives her more independence.

Currently we are also in the process of getting her a self propelled wheelchair.  She's eight years old now and a stroller is NOT her first choice for long distances (smile), though she'd never complain.  With every amputation/prosthesis (each individual leg) it uses 80% more energy.  That is a lot of extra energy on a hot day where you are walking longer distances. Our deductible has been met (of so our insurance takes care of 90% of it.  We appreciate prayers to be able to order this before the end of the year.  We need to be able to pay half of what is owed ($223 is half ) before we can order it and then they can create payments for us for the rest.  We thought we had this figured out, but as with much of life...things do not always go as planned.  We will figure out something, but we appreciate prayers here (smile).

So anyway, that's the haps with Jael.  Now to go wrangle a couple wild little ones and get them to sit down and focus.  Wish me luck!!!!

(P.S. Our oldest VERY pregnant daughter Sarah has a virus.  PLEASE pray she is healed quickly and protection for little in utero Isabella! My Mommy is coming out knowing my daughter is sick.)

"The Lord is good to all,

and his mercy is over all that he has made."
Psalm 145:9

Immanent Prayer Request:
*Sarah currently has a virus and is pretty sick.  Can you please pray for her health and the health of baby Isabella?
*Please pray for direction for the $223 we need to put a deposit on Jael's wheelchair.

Our Prayer Requests:
*Please pray for our continued adoption journey.  Please pray protection over our family and the ever expanding number of children (here and across the world).  The master of lies loves to mess with anyone trying to follow God.
*Please pray for a financial way.  We have funds due soon with the adoption and many unusual expenses that happen...some only every five years.  They just happen to have happened all at once during back to back adoptions.  We are taking a deep breath and trusting God.
*Please pray for our beautiful pregnant daughters  (one is a daughter-in-love, but I love her like one) and one precious extended family member who is expecting.  Our daughter Sarah is due any day and they have a lot of things they are trying to figure out. Please pray for discernment, direction, and blessing for Sarah and Ivan.   Please pray for all three of the babies and their health...and health of the mommies.
*Please pray we GLORIFY GOD in ALL THINGS.  This is the most important.

Our Friends:
*PLEASE pray for a young teen named Alyssa.  She has brain cancer and has had many brain surgeries at this point.  They just found cancer at the base of her spine.  PLEASE pray for healing.  (She is the daughter of two friends from college.)  Please also pray for her family.
*Please pray for my husband's friend at work.  He lost his mother-in-law two weeks ago. (The Windom family)
*Please pray for my friend Elizabeth, as she they have found cancer on her foot.  Please also pray for insurance to approve this quickly!
*God has answered our prayers and this last Monday we were able to complete another big step in our adoption.

Know if I'm praying for you, I have not forgotten.  If I don't have your permission to put it here I won't in order to make sure it is only shared if you would like us to.

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
