The Face-Plant of Faith

Following God is not comfortable, predictable, or easy.  We cannot tone down the truth of following God.

He blesses...yes...but He also stretches VERY uncomfortably, sometimes painfully.

He has us trusting the next step that we cannot see.  He has us leaving the predicted road.

It's easy to say, "God, I really don't want to do that.  It makes me very uncomfortable."

It's hard to take a deep breath, step forward into the fog where you cannot predict where you will end up....

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. " Hebrews 11:1

...where you have to risk falling flat on your face.

Yet, the path less traveled leads places you can't even dream of.

It's scary.  It's terrifying.  It's free falling.

Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,”they said, and cried out in fear.
 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,”he said, “why did you doubt?”  Matthew 14:25-31

It's exhilarating, breath taking, mind boggling.

“But God doesn't call us to be comfortable. He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn't come through.”
           Francis Chan~Crazy Love

It's God.

"But God made the earth by his power;
    he founded the world by his wisdom
    and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.
13 When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar;
    he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.
He sends lightning with the rain
    and brings out the wind from his storehouses." Jeremiah 10:12-13

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
