Sitting In His Majesty...The Heart

Do you ever discover something and just ponder it? Do you sit in awe of God's creation?

I think we need to.  Somewhere down the line we, the human race, have lost some of our awe of our Heavenly Father.

 It's time to sit, dwell with God...in His MAJESTY.

While reading "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan, I keep coming back to this one thought.

“Not being able to fully understand God is frustrating but it is ridiculous for us to think we have the right to limit God to something we are capable of comprehending. What a stunted, insignificant god that would be! If my mind is the size of a soda can and God is the size of all the oceans, it would be stupid for me to say He is only the small amount of water I can scoop into my little can. God is so much bigger, so far beyond our time-encased, air/food/sleep-dependent lives."

Sitting in His Majesty...

The Human Heart

The average adult heart beats 72 times a minute; 100,000 times a day; 3,600,000 times a year; and 2.5 billion times during an average lifespan.

Seriously...

Usually no bigger than your fist, your heart keeps blood pumping through the 60,000 miles of blood vessels. They would stretch around the WORLD more than TWICE.

Mind blowing...

A heart on average pumps 20,000 gallons a day through the MILES of blood vessels.

A faucet would need to be turned on consistently for 45 years to equal the same amount of blood the heart pumps during a lifetime.

The human heart pumps blood to almost 75 TRILLION cells in the average human body.

I can't even fathom that number.

The human heart begins beating at four weeks after conception and doesn't stop beating until death.

Beauty...

Every day, the heart creates enough energy to drive a truck 20 miles. In a lifetime, that is equivalent to driving to the moon and back.

Laughter can send 20% more blood flowing through the body. Laughter being the best medicine may actually be true.

Isn't God cool?!!!

I don't know how to get my mind wrapped around God's goodness. I'm so thankful I can't.  My "soda can" can only hold so much.  I've come to a point where I've realized we don't need to understand everything. If we could, our God wouldn't be the awe inspiring, blow me away, God that HE is!

Psalm 150

Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
    praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
    praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
    praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with timbrel and dancing,
    praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals,
    praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
