God is Here NOW

Oh the morning...filled with brokenness and hurt places....filled with bad decisions and a distinct lack of patience (the last one has been completely me).

I feel depleted.

I find myself thinking, tomorrow is a new day....and waiting anxiously for a sleep induced coma tonight.

Tomorrow is a new day may be one of the most harmful sayings we utter.

It is our excuse for not changing NOW.

"Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

The Bible does NOT say, "Therefore if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; tomorrow the old will have passed away, and behold, the new will come if you just make it through today."

(Yes, I know it feels like that sometimes.)

We are not guaranteed the morning.  Our children are not guaranteed the morning.

Tomorrow IS a new day... but then the next hour IS a new hour...the next minute IS a new minute...and the next second IS a new second.

Healing takes time, but beginning on the path of changing ourselves can happen now.  It is not dependent on another's actions.  It's not dependent on another's kindness, obedience, truthfulness, or joy.  It's just not.

It's turning to God and relying on HIM to light those dark places.

Don't wait until tomorrow.  God is here NOW.

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
