Caffeine, Manikins, and Eastern Europe

I admit it.  "Coffee" has broken up with me (though I still think we can work it out).  I cheated....with his evil twin brother "Caffeine".  I had to.  He was right there and available.  Sigh...(hanging head in shame)

After uneventful flights (no new "friends")....

We made it to Eastern Europe yesterday (at least I think it was yesterday).

That's where it happened.  I met "Caffeine".

We stayed in a little apartment on the fifth floor.

The elevator worked...sometimes.  It was a ninja elevator though.  It would throw open it's doors only to slam them shut if you didn't move quick enough.  Occasionally the doors would open and the elevator...well...decided it would stop about a foot PAST where it was supposed to.

I'm not sure it liked us.  I think it talked to "Coffee".

As you can see, I'm a little sleep deprived.

Last night we were able to hoof it to a main square (we stayed near where we did last time) and met a dear internet crazy person...I mean (cough) friend, Kim (hee hee..sorry Kim).  She is AWESOME! She and her American family are moving HERE in the next six months.  YUP,  they are moving across the world to spread God's word and work with orphans.  I LOVE HER. (Sorry Caffeine)

Did I mention the sleep deprivation?

A couple of things I've said the 24 hours.
"I wouldn't exercise in my lingerie." (don't judge me, judge the manikin)
"I need to jump. It wakes me up."

This morning Niko, our driver, took the three hour journey with us to the little town Benjamin lives in (though he doesn't live here for much longer).

It was so interesting watching the soviet era vehicles speed past us.  At one point a car in the road seemed to almost be standing still as we neared it.  There was to car, but a family riding in a horse drawn wagon.

Wild...and pretty cool...

We are now camping out in our room, taking some down time, while we wait to see Benjamin for the first time in a month.

MAN, we are ready.

Did I mention we are bringing a few more things to donate this time too? A few things I'm VERY excited about?
Why, you may ask?  Because these beautiful hats were hand made by a 26 year old young woman who prayed over each hat.  Gives a new meaning to "covered in prayer" doesn't it?  Just awesome!!!

The diapers were the first of several purchases from money donated to help these sweet boys.  Friends, thank you...soooo excited!

Also, I want to thank you for your continued prayers.  Even if my posts get crazier and crazier...sleep deprivation does that to me.  We are MORE than thankful for the prayers.

Immediate prayers, not always the most important, but the here and now...
*Rest~ Please pray we are rested (and continue to be) and that our body clocks adjust.  Last time we never fully adjusted and it was ROUGH.
*Please pray, through the heat, we are able to rest.  Traditionally we haven't been able to.  It's VERY humid.
*Please pray for our daughter, Sarah (yup, I'm ratting you out Sarah).  She tends to take on too much.  Please pray for her to be able to rest, feel secure, and vanquish any junk not of our Heavenly Father that the master of lies tries to hit her with
*Please pray for court tomorrow, that is goes WONDERFULLY and this process is quick.
*Please pray for Benjamin...that God gives him a spirit of calmness, peace, and restfulness.  This may be very hard for him, but GOD is amazing and so we pray....

ALL Prayer Requests

*Please pray that God sustains Benjamin.  Please pray that He continues to prepare his heart while we are apart and Ben dreams of us...knowing ways that wouldn't make sense to the world.  Please pray he attaches and learns to love (and learns what family is) quicker than we can fathom.  Please also pray that God calms him.  This will be scary for him and we pray that God calms his spirit.

*PLEASE pray that satan's hands are tied.  He does not want us (or anyone) to enter that village.

*Please pray that the small town's gates are “figuratively” thrown down and God’s love floods the streets.

*Please pray our children at home are safe...physically/emotionally/and spiritually.  Attacks on the kids happened last time we were gone on the trip to bring Jael home.  PLEASE cover them.  Also, please pray for safety specifically for our oldest (Tom) as he will be on a senior trip for a week part of our second trip to Eastern Europe.

*Please also pray as our children at home try to stay organized in our absence, that things go smoothly for them and time passes quickly.
*Please pray for my husband and I, for our SAFETY and that we remain WELL.  We are going somewhere VERY rural with no one that speaks English most of the time.

*Please pray for my mom, brother, and friends as they care for our children (safety, smoothness, etc.)

*NEW~ Please pray that the next trip is as short as possible, while successfully completing Benjamin's adoption.  Please pray that the trips have a speed that can only be explained as a blessing of God.

*Please pray that our trip home with Ben is peaceful and uneventful.  Please pray that calm (beyond understanding) reigns for our sweet Benjamin and that we see what we need to do to help him.

*That ALL paperwork needed is sped (by God's Will) in country (with NO hiccups).

*Please pray that court goes EXTREMELY easy and quick.  It doesn't always.
*Please pray for comfort as we continue to mourn Jonathan.
*Please pray for us to have a connection with the head of the institution. God has given us a love for the head of the institution and the caregivers.  Also, please pray for our connection to those in the village.

*Please pray that the head of this institution shows us where Benjamin has resided these last two years...and around the institution and laying rooms.  This is a wish, but we respect their decision.

*Please pray the trip  itself is smooth.  There are NO issues.  That every blip, every ironed out before us.

*Please pray that our lines of communication with our children are successful (Skype, Magic Jack, international texting).  We will be in a very rural region.

*Please pray that we remain rested.

"About Benjamin He said:

'Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in Him,
for He shields him all day long,
and the one the Lord loves rests between His shoulders.'
Deuteronomy 33:12

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
