Reality, Verse, and a Sarcastic Font

Ben is six to seven years old in this picture (taken in 2009).

I've had a difficult time with reality (my friends need to stop laughing here...chuckle).

Reality has shifted for us.  Reality is that our 9th child, Jonathan, will not be sleeping under this roof.  Reality is that our precious son is in Heaven.  I can say that with a smile (and a few tears).

Reality is that we are headed to Eastern Europe (prayerfully) shortly and a sweet boy named Benjamin will be snuggled into a bed next to us.

Reality is not what was expected.  It is good, painful, joyful...etc. etc. etc.

It's hard not being able to plan though.  There is so much we don't know.  No one has heard from or seen Ben for years.

Will he be standing or running?  Will he be weak and carried to us from a laying room?  Will he be able to eat solid food or have feeding issues?  Will he be the size of a small toddler or a six or seven year old?  Will he be non verbal (as we expect)?  What size clothing will he wear?  Will he be in a crib or a bed?  Will he be easily overstimulated? What will his personality be like?  What institutional behaviors will we wade through with our little son who has experienced such trauma in his short life?  Will he need hospitalization as we know Jonathan did?

There are so many unknowns.

There are just so few things we can plan for right now and/or give to him.

One thing we can give to him is his name.  God gave me his name before we had committed.  He whispered it to my soul.  It's how I knew we would seek him..... Benjamin.

What we can also give him (and our family) is a verse.... a Bible verse we can stand on a we travel this road.

I had literally been at a loss.  My mind couldn't grasp what was needed.

A verse about...

Hope?
Redemption?
God's Power?

Finally, a little sarcastically I must admit, I typed into my search engine...

(Yes, you can type sarcastically.  I think it needs it's own font.)

"Bible verse about Benjamin"

Can you just see my face?  I was a tad exasperated.  Did I think a verse would REALLY come up?

Only our Heavenly Father would have that kind of patience with me.

Only God would give me the gift of a verse when I was being so snarky.

It is THE perfect verse...only GOD...

EVERYTHING that is highlighted IS part of the verse...NO JOKE...

"About Benjamin He said:

'Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in Him,
 for He shields him all day long,
and the one the Lord loves rests between His shoulders.'

Deuteronomy 33:12

Only God...

Please friends, we ask for your continued prayers for an EARLY appointment date in country (April 15th-17th).  We were informed yesterday that they expected a April 22nd date.  We'll have to delay if that is so (due to holidays in this European Nation).  We lost our precious Jonathan, and we need to get to Ben (in this same institution).  Another family is also in the wait with us and needs this date.  Could you please pray for an early date and that it's God's will?  We want God's will ABOVE anything else (and to glorify Him).  HE is the reason we are on this journey.  HE is giving us another gift.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All prayer requests are listed below.
If you wish to help us in our journey financially please see the information following.
This video shows our reality and below the video (on YouTube) there are ways to give listed.
We have $3,061 needed to bring Ben home.  Yes, we have a week (if we travel for an early date) to do it...but God's got this.
Prayer Requests:
*NEW~ Please pray for God's perfect timing and IF it's HIS will, we will get a date of April 15th to 17th.  ALSO, that we get court quickly and avoid the May holidays in country.
*Please pray that God sustains Benjamin.  Please pray that He prepares his heart and Ben dreams of us...knowing us...in ways that wouldn't make sense to the world.  Please pray he attaches and learns to love quicker than we can fathom.
*Please pray for comfort as we continue to mourn Jonathan.
*Please pray for the funds to be placed in front of us quickly.
*PLEASE pray that satan's hands are tied.  He does not want us (or anyone) to enter that village.
*Please pray that the village gates are “figuratively” thrown down and God’s love floods the streets.
Travel Prayer Requests
*Please pray for us to have a connection with the head of the institution.  Our feelings are raw, but we know that they have limited resources and we pray we can make a difference in the lives of these boys.
*Please pray our children here in the U.S. are protected and safe.  Please pray a wall (cement, barbed wire, electric...smile) of protection around them especially while we are apart.  Please pray for my brother and mom as they care for the kids.
*Please pray the trip is smooth.  There are NO issues.  That every blip, every hiccup...is ironed out before us.
*Please pray BOTH trips are quicker than we fathom...a quickness only God can give.
*PLEASE PRAY GOD'S WILL IS DONE*
In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.
Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
