Birthday, Heavy Heart, and a Privilege

Seven, my favorite number, just happens to be the age our Bekah just turned.  It took awhile to celebrate/coordinate the party as Bekah's one requirement was Grandma, Uncle Steve, and the Moowerts (a goofy nickname) needed to be there.

Just ignore how sad and unhappy she looks.

Wouldn't morose be a good word?

If only we could get her to smile! No one gave her anything she liked.  Can't you tell?!

Our "Princess" Bekah is now seven.  It's unbelievable to think the little thing (15 months old in 3-6 month clothes) is now seven.  Every day we are thankful for this joyous wonder!!!!

As we celebrated, I couldn't believe just how tired I was.

For some reason lately I am not able to "sleep in" or really sleep until any reasonable hour.  I can't imagine why? (laden with a tiny bit of sarcasm)

There are so many heavy on my heart and I truly feel torn.  There is SO much need.  Yet we are right in the fray with them.  Jonathan needs to experience the love missing from his life for nine years (his birthday is this month).  Yet, I still wish I had the funds to pour into the hands of some treasured friends.  I found some friends need funds in a different way, not to fix a house, not to buy a new...anything, but to fight for their child's mental health.  My heart yearns for them.  As we fight for our child's life, they fight for their child's life in a different way.  URG....

And then, in my humanness, I wake up this morning with just a tiny soupcon of fear.  I KNOW God will bring to fruition what HE started, yet the smidgen of fear sits on my gut like an unwanted guest some days.  Yuck!

I refuse to wallow in my fear though.  We have followed God to six of our children (including Jonathan).  We were not "ready" or "better".  God equips us in ways we haven't previously been...every time.  He provided where funds were non existent.

Scary? Sometimes.

Exciting? Sometimes.

A privilege to watch God work? ALWAYS.

So as we celebrate Bekah's 7th birthday, we remind ourselves that God brought us this beautiful little girl and we stand in faith that HE will do the same with Jonathan.

Please continue to keep our family in your prayers.

If you want to share our need with your congregation or organization, we have created a DVD chronicling our families life, Jonathan, where he is, and our need.  It can be popped into any DVD player or computer.  Please request the packet by emailing us at everlasting_momentum@verizon.net.  Thank you...very seriously...for joining us on our journey.  Even if (at times) it is eyes that are opened through this DVD, then prayers are answered.

Prayer Requests:
*For Jonathan to be sustained and for any health to be protected. That a caregiver sees his value. That he has dreams of us and is ready for us in a way that cannot be explained by this world. That he attaches quicker than anyone would deem normal for the situation he has been in.
*For funds to be raised and complete quickly....for Churches and organizations to stand with us.
*For the dossier to have NO issues and to be submitted this Thursday.
*For protection over our children, entire family, and EVERY person involved in this journey (here and in Eastern Europe) . That satan's hands be tied.

Specific Prayer Requests
*That our two trips have a quickness not yet anticipated. That the "bumps" are smoothed over. That we easily and quickly receive the referral and have court.
*That we have a connection with the caregivers and head of the institution. That doors are opened and we (and others) may be able to help however they allow.
*That we are able to make Jonathan comfortable and that he does not refuse to eat/drink or struggle with refeeding syndrome.
*That we may see the laying room and have pictures of where our precious boy resided.
*That each of our children remaining home may be protected, safe physically and spiritually while we are apart.
*That we are allowed to take new pictures of the waiting Lost Boys and that new boys may be listed.

“I will go before you
and will level the mountains;
I will break down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.
I will give you hidden treasures,
riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.” Isaiah 45:2-3

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
