First Day Back and We're All Alive

Though yesterday Sarah, our sixteen year old, had her first day back to our teaching co-op...as a family we just vegged out when we got back.

Jael did not want to slow down, so this picture was IT for the day!
The twins camped out next to each other.  What this doesn't capture
is that they were rubbing faces like cats.  So cute!

I won't say that we decided to celebrate our successful physicals with a rare eating out....of pizza.  That would be just wrong.  It would be even worse if we followed it up with a Sonic Blast.   Now we wait another month to eat out....and are nauseous.

Today was our first day back of home school after our Christmas Break.  I have now completed an entire day...and the kids are still alive.

Proof at least two kids survived.  Bekah was cuddling up to me reading.
Max was SERIOUSLY concentrating on Arithmetic.

Okay, truthfully...the first day back after break (summer or Christmas) is always...ummm...challenging.

You know I strive for honesty, so here it goes.

#1~I have amazing and awesome kids!
#2~We all lost our minds during the Christmas break.
#3~Mommy might have felt a little like banging her head against the wall by the end of the day...maybe.
#4~We all survived and it started flowing toward the end of the day.
#5~My kids still love me (they giggle!).
#6~I am not hiding.

Mostly these are good things...except maybe the mind loss or the banging the head thing.  Four of six is pretty good!

On the adoption front, today I received a call that our paperwork for the dossier (paperwork to Eastern Europe) from the Property Assessor is done.  I've been praying that this happens this week. The numbers on it are needed for the home study and this particular paper (in the past with another office) was especially difficult.  Hopefully it's correct.   I always feel bad when I have to have people redo it.  It's just SOOOO exact (how it has to be done).  I feel like I'm a meanie.  Prayerfully it will be correct!!!

As for Jael and her medical, we have an appointment for her mid month.  We will talk about her next prosthetics.  Though the running legs are lighter and the knees heavier and harder to use,  her needs (and wanting to be able to do what other kids are doing)....lead us to want the knees for her.  It may take her longer to be independent. Please pray we can be her advocate and kindly show them Jael's wants/needs.  We (all of us...family, doctors, therapists) want what is best for her.

Thank you friends for hanging in there with our craziness!  Please continue to keep us in your prayers!  Many blessings!!!!

*Jonathan to be sustained, COMPLETELY protected, that God prepares his heart beyond what would make sense (because of his neglect) for his family and to understand love. Also, for the head of the institution and for the caretakers to KNOW God's love and HIS value of these children.
*For EVERY aspect of this adoption to be protected. Please pray that satan's hands are tied completely. Please pray continued protection on ALL involved...every single person or organization that has anything to do with this adoption.
*Please pray for our family and children...in the past the attacks on their sweet spirits happen especially during these processes.
*Please pray the remainder of the funds come in quickly.
*Please pray the doctors forms are correctly done and the tests results are very good.
*Please pray that the interviews with the psychologist go wonderfully and that he has NO concerns.
* Please pray that our home study comes together this week and we can gain official approval quickly.
*Please pray our house appraisal comes in correctly done....without flaw...for the dossier this week (facts on it are necessary for the home study).
*Please pray for my balance, as a mom, as we start home school, start focusing on our oldest's upcoming graduation, and are doing paperwork and fundraising for the adoption. Please pray that I have patience and balance life successfully for all our little blessings (here and internationally), as well as for my husband.

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." Ephesians 6:10

  1. Oh, I hear ya girlfriend! "Back to school" after anything counts as a trial. :) Glad to hear the kiddos survived, giggle (I know it's harder on mom than the kiddos really!)

  2. My kids were ready to get back to school - we did a lot of home schooling during break - but that helped us keep a schedule which is always a good thing in our house! :) Praying for everything Jononthan!!

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
