Combat Praise (Part II of II)

Exhaustion, defeat, pummeling, darkness...satan's propaganda.

There is something he doesn't want to hear though, and there is something that we need to be doing that vanquishes the oppression of satan.

Praise

Praise brings the master of lies to his knees, plugging his ears...trying to block out the undeniable truth...God's majesty.

The lies cannot exist where the recognition of God's power does.

It is our sword, slashing through the enemy's armor.

It is SOLELY praising God, thanking Him, hitting our knees screaming HIS greatness from the trees...praise.

Where absolute light exists, darkness cannot.  THAT is why, when we are tired, we MUST remember God's Majesty.

"The people walking in darkness
    have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
    a light has dawned.
You have enlarged the nation
    and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest,
as men rejoice
    when dividing the plunder.
For as in the day of Midian’s defeat,
    you have shattered
the yoke that burdens them,
    the bar across their shoulders,
    the rod of their oppressor.
Every warrior’s boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace
    there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice and righteousness

from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this." Isaiah 9:2-7

When exhaustion hits, God's power must be screamed from the mountain tops.  When the dark thoughts of defeat reign in our spirit....

*I've messed things up too much.
*This world would just be better without me.
*I am a horrible parent.
*My spouse deserves better.
*I've failed again.
*I'll never be good enough.
*I'm tired...so tired.

Give GOD the glory...these thoughts cannot exist where praise does.  Try it...

"In worship we gather in the presence of the same God who rescued his people from Egypt, marched around Jericho's walls, and defeated the power of death on the cross." A. Leder

*I've messed up too much.

"From the Lord comes deliverance." Psalms 3:8

*This world is better without me.

"The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word." Hebrews 1:3

*I am a horrible parent.

"Your throne, O god, will last forever and ever..."Psalm 45:6

*My spouse deserves better.

"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

*I'll never be good enough." Revelations 5:13

"For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
he is to be feared above all gods." I Chronicles 16:25

*I'm tired...so tired.

“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!” Revelations 5:11

Praise vanquishes darkness.  It does not discriminate against the world's view of what's reality...it crushes it and shines light on the reality of God.  It brings forth God's might in our hearts.  It shines light in the darkness recesses.  satan is blinded.

You must hear this.  This is not an experiment in futility.

If you are in a dark place, praise...when you feel praiseless.  Remember God's glory, when all hope seems lost.  When the tears run and we feel like pleading for mercy, praise.  When the clouds remain overhead...praise.  It'll send satan running.  It will kick him to the curb.  It will have him screaming in anguish.

Combat Praise...using your ninja skills to vanquish the devil.

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright shove...no matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the momentum...it is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
