Hating Your Father, Mother, Spouse, and Children (Adoption)

"Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 'If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.' " Luke 14:25-27

Never before has this verse hit me the way it did this morning.

It blows almost every casual reason we give for NOT adopting out of the water.

*I'm too old.
*I'm happy the way my life is now.
*I can barely afford college for my kids now.
*I could never do that, why ask when I know I couldn't do it.
*My house is full and I'm so busy.
*I'm comfortable as it is.
*I'm not good enough.

Etc. Etc. Etc.

If we come to Christ and are not willing to leave all that we love, all that is comfortable, all that we hold on to dearly, EVERYTHING to follow HIM....

You see, it's all about following HIM...

You get the drift....

Sasha (top right of blog) is in a "laying room" and the reasons just don't hold water in my heart.  He's a little boy that we pray survives until his family brings him home.

In the joy of following our Heavenly Father, we sometimes choose to proceed with a whisper, a verse, or a downright matter how we follow Him, the momentum that follows is like nothing we've ever experienced before.

Join the is a beautiful place to be. It's not always easy, but then the best things never are.
